Dr. Kimber comes to us from Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he lives with his wife, Libby, a hospice social worker, and Molly, a Lab-Collie dog. Dr. Kimber grew up in the Chicago area, Connecticut, and the western suburbs of Philadelphia before moving to St. Louis, after graduation from high school. Dr. Kimber is a graduate of Lawrence University ( Appleton, Wisconsin), and St. Louis University School of Medicine. He then trained for family practice in Minneapolis and Huntington, West Virginia. Dr. Kimber began practice in rural southern West Virginia, later joining the faculty of Marshall University School of Medicine. Seventeen years ago, he returned to his family's Pennsylvania roots, moving to Lancaster to practice and train family practice residents at Lancaster General Hospital, and later Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon. More recently he has practiced in Fredricksburg, Lebanon County, and as medical director of the York County Nursing Home. He has also practiced at the State Correctional Institution at Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Dr. Kimber's professional interests have included maternity care, rural health care, care of culturally diverse and underserved populations. Long term care has been an enjoyable part of his practice over the years. He enjoys camping, canoeing, hiking, running, biking, cross country skiing, and sailing (when he can find a sail boat). He has tried without success to learn to play the piano, guitar, and mountain dulcimer, but has learned to juggle. He has been acitve in his church with youth activities and short term missions trips.
