Local Matching Funds Needed for $1.68 million Federal Grant

Overview: In 2009, a group of four Lebanon human services agencies invited Welsh Mountain Health Centers to open a medical center in Lebanon specifically targeted to uninsured, economically disadvantaged residents and Medicaid recipients.  In response, Welsh Mountain applied for and received funding to open Lebanon Ridge Community Health in 2011. Since then, the Lebanon community has urged Welsh Mountain to open a dental facility to serve the 16,000+ Medicaid/low-income residents without access to dental care. Click here for more information about the need for a dental clinic in Lebanon.

Welsh Mountain applied for a federal grant in November 2011 to fund a $1,850,000 dental facility.  In May 2012, $1,680,000 in federal funds was awarded to open a 12-room, state-of-the-art dental facility. Among the grant requirements is a commitment to raise $170,000 in local matching funds. Any additional funds will be dedicated to patient care which is projected to run a deficit of $180,000 over the first two years.
