The Horse and Buggy
Immunization Program

Since 1985, medical staff from Welsh Mountain Medical &Dental Center have been visiting the homes of Amish and Old Order Mennonite families in our community to vaccinate their children against preventable childhood diseases. We are happy to provide this service to our neighbors who travel by horse and buggy and, therefore, find it difficult to make frequent trips to their doctor's office for preventive health care.

We encourage you to spread the word about our program to your friends, relatives, and neighbors. We welcome multiple families in one home. It is very important, however, that every family call to set up an appointment so we can be certain to have enough time for our visit and a sufficient supply of vaccines.

We will be glad to send you more information about:

What immunization shots are given?
The cost of a home visit?
Preparation for the visit?

To arrange for more information and set up a home vist simply call Welsh Mountain Center Monday-Friday during office hours at (717) 354-4711 and ask to speak to the person in charge of the Horse and Buggy Program.
